THE CLANS

SCORCHCLAN
Introduction. ScorchClan are clever, ruthless, and always have plans ready. They're not afraid to get their claws bloody, whether it be the blood of an enemy or the blood of a friend. They seem to be naturally hot tempered headstrong to match their territory. And are also known for using their claws to settle arguments within their own clan. Many say the red sand that covers this clans territory is actually stained with seasons worth of blood. Not a day goes by that these cats aren't fighting for their lives, be it against the heat, the hazards of living in a barren wasteland, or simply defending themselves in arguments. With so few recourse inside their territory Scorchclan is certainly a clan that knows how to find creative ways to fix their problems or simply plow right through them with brute force.
Territory. ScorchClan lives in a barren desert. No grass or any kind of vegetation inside more of their territory, only gritty sand and tumbleweeds as far as the eye can see and poisons dry weeds known as Sand Weed and a palm tree here or there. ScorchClan's camp is set inside an oasis surrounded in a wide circle of vegetation, which is where they get all their herbs and nutrition. Their dens are made up of a series of several things mostly natural mineral deposits and rock out croppings. Although it may seem like there's no prey to be found, in reality, many creatures make their burrows in the sand. You just need to know how to find them, and you'll see that the territory is booming with life. The dens in camp are underneath small groupings of short and stubby palm trees, making a shield against sunlight. They train their apprentices in camp, in a cleared-out section towards the edge of the oasis called the Sand Pit. But beware, there are many dark and secret tunnels beneath and the sand can sometimes give away above these and suck you down into a tunnel. If it doesn't suffocate you first.
Hazards. Being in a hot wasteland, there are many different types of predators. The main dangers of the territory are venomous snakes, spiders, and poisonous plants. The plants here can easily be mistaken for other plants, which is often the cause of poisoning. Predators include the great horned owl and golden eagle. Another risk is the blazing heat, and due to this they are primarily a nocturnal clan, often allowing the risk of heat stroke and death by dehydration take care of their day time intruders.
Prey. Lizards, jumping mice, rats, and the occasional Seagull or if they can find them, the favorite treat of seagull eggs.
