TDC GUIDEBOOK
THE CLANS
RUSHINGCLAN
Introduction. These cats are generally, but not by rule, demisexual or asexual. They're unlikely to engage in fights and prefer to follow more peaceful routes of action. Cats from this clan are typically less judgmental and more welcoming of outsiders. Cats here base their actions on morality and emotion, not fearing to allow their feelings to take control or to oppose the warrior code if they believe it to be wrong in this instance. They are respectful and one of the most religious cats of the island. In regards to battle most consider them to weakest, seeing their pacifist beliefs. They aren't half wrong however they make up for it being quick and confident fighters. Each strike is at the very least well calculated and meaningful and they're fast enough to escape an oncoming attack. They are smart and selective with their battles, they will not contribute to a fight if they think is pointless. Again they are selective with their fights, they believe in preserving life over winning a fight.
They have the most fertile territory. Fresh streams and creeks feed into their tropical jungle territory. Prey is always running, herbs are abundant, and fights rarely break out when such a well per-paired clan is against you. With large coral reefs in the shallow water around their side of the island these cats hold possibly the most beautiful territory on the island. However all this beauty comes at a high price. Colliding tides, shifting rapids, and rising tides often cause the territory to flood terribly and larges waves often destroy the some of the territory. On rare occasions title waves have been known to hit the camp. But these cats are prepared.
Territory. RushingClan live in a traditional tropical beach and jungle setting, making their camp more towards the middle of their territory for better protection against waves. Their territory is sunny, beautiful, and everything you could want in a tropical beach with much more prey than is truly needed. The waves however crash relentlessly and constantly against the shore. They built their dens around huge boulders, covering up the tops of the dens with palm tree leaves. Because the boulders were slightly wide-spaced, the dens are quite large. In camp, there is a deep hole in the ground, dubbed fittingly "the escape hole". When cats can't escape tidal waves the more efficient way, they run deep into the hole and block the entrance with a big rock. Other landmarks in the territory include: the tree of training (a tree around which battle training is coached), and the wide-rock (a very wide-spaced rock in the middle of the territory that, if needed, cats can hide behind during a tidal wave).
Hazards. RushingClan, as told above, get hit by tidal waves occasionally. These tidal waves are huge, covering half of their territory when they strike. Now, it's not all bad; the water nourishes precious and vital herbs. You may be wondering if the cats are okay during these. Well, RushingClan has a procedure for whenever the water strikes. They run to camp, and a: climb up the tall palm trees and flee from atop the trees, or b: take cover in the escape-hole. Option b: is more risky, but sometimes queens and elders can't make the climb to escape. There is also the danger of sharks and carnivorous fish somehow making their way past the boulder.
Prey. Large and small fish and crustaceans, birds, mice, rats, lizards, snakes, tropical birds, seagulls, seagull eggs, and shell fish if they can get them open.
