[11/26/16, 11:17:55 PM] DragonriderSC Sa: Lightningcloud was rather reluctant to go to gatherings nowadays, she hardly had the energy to converse with the other clans. But she had come to realise that attending gatherings were much more beneficial then she thought. Here, she didn’t have to worry about trying so hard to look and act like her old self, its not like the other clans would notice how damaged she’d become. It was nice getting away from her territory too, it seemed more like a cage then home after current events. More so recently now that the truth of Smoulderwisp had been revealed to her. Now she was all too eager to get away from the ‘tom’ and out of the shadows of Sharkclan.
It had been a while since she had mingled with the other clans, longer more since she had actually formed something with them that was beyond border squabbling. She had to wonder if she had ever made acquaintance with the other clans. A brown and white pelt with cross markings reminded her that that statement wasn’t so true anymore.
“Well hello again. Been a while hasn’t it? Didn’t think id’e see you again after how quickly you ran off last time we spoke” she greeted Crescentstrike with a friendly tease, trying to push away her discomfort over what the she-cat had tried to do to her the last time they met. It was innocent enough she supposed, but still very much inappropriate. One didn’t touch noses out of nothing after all, and they certainly dont do it with strangers. “Was i really such poor company?” she whined with an overacted pout
She smiled afterwards, a glimmer of her old mischief in her eyes to let Crescentstrike know she was just teasing
[11/26/16, 11:27:58 PM] Fountain Of Yewth: Crescentstrike was as stiff as a board in the presence of the other deputies. She felt woefully inadequate compared to them. In her brief time as deputy she had not done the best of jobs. It would have been hard enough with her previous nature but now… Everything was harder. Even getting out of bed in the morning. “No you were not. I apologize for my c… Conn… My behavior. It was not right to behave that way.” She had tried to think of the proper word to call it but it had evaded her. In truth the word she’d been looking for was conduct.
The she-cat was doing her best to apologize and be vague in the presence of the other deputies.
[11/26/16, 11:38:59 PM] DragonriderSC Sa: Lightningcloud shrugged, noting the difficulty in finding the right words the fellow she-cat had. “It’s fine dear, no harm done” only because she had moved away in time to miss the mark. If she had stayed dazed off for even a second longer, she would of touched noses with another cat. A cat who wasn’t Thistletongue….
Truth be told, the ginger warrior had grown some slight concerns for the deputy. She found herself thinking over their conversation and her paranoia took over. Was Crescentstrike suffering from the Dark Jungle too? Maybe they were spreading to the other clans, maybe Smoulderwisp had something to do with it. All were concerns that were most likely wrong, but she felt the need to be sure. But after the fiasco with Smoulderwisp , she realised she had to be more careful this time and more conspicuous as to not give herself away in case she was sided with the Dark Jungle.
She couldn’t talk in front of the other deputies, she needed to take her away from their earshot and mingle in the crowd. That way their words would be drowned out by everyone else’s. “Although, i think a quick walk about should make up for it” she mewed with a sly smile “The gathering hasn’t started yet so we have time. And don’t worry, ill bring you back in time for it” she mewed with a wink.
[11/26/16, 11:41:36 PM] Fountain Of Yewth: Crescentstrike found herself blushing heavily at the wink. She glanced at the other deputies, heavily glad she had fur that could hid the fact her face felt really really hot right now. “I guess it would be good to get some air. Kinda crowded here anyhow.” And so many people were looking at her with her being in front of everyone. At least it felt like they were. She’d never been so much the center of attention before. Normally she was just a part of the rabble.
[11/27/16, 12:06:52 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: “Great” she beamed with a curl of her tail, perhaps drawing more attention then she should. Lightningcloud internally cringed at the thought of so many glowing eyes looking at her, it only reminded her of her nightmares and the pain and the darkness. She only then noticed that her heart was racing at the thought and subtle beads of sweat trickled under her fur. Her toothy grin stayed strong though, she wouldn’t let her mask slip yet. Casually, she came up to the deputy’s side -making sure there was proper distance between them but still being close to ear- and lead her away from the others “Follow me then darling, ill lead tonight ~”
[11/27/16, 12:11:57 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: Crescentstrike had to repress a shiver at the voice. And at it an uneasy thought came to her. Back when Blindstar and Copperwing had been alive she’d always admired them so. Everything about them, she’d wanted to be just like them. Thinking back on Blindstar, she couldn’t help but wonder if there had been perhaps something more to her admiration. The fact that she apparently seemed to have a thing for take charge she-cats was not lost on her currently.
No. She hadn’t had a crush on Blindstar. She’d just admired her quite a bit. That was all. Crescentstrike was silent as they padded away from the gathering, trying her best to push her feelings down.
[11/27/16, 12:24:52 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: Lightningcloud made sure to steer then in earshot of other cats in case something happened, if she was like Smoulderwisp then she’d just take the opportunity to silence her. It did good for her nerves knowing that help was only a scream away, unlike the reality of what had happened with her smokey mentor. It was silent for a time before Lightningcloud found the never to speak “So champ, i see you’ve been doing well. Or at least as well as you want everyone to think you’re doing”
[11/27/16, 12:27:05 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Well is… Stretching it.” She wasn’t feeling as bad as she had before. But there was still a purposelessness to her life. All the things she did… Were just because she was going through the motions. Perhaps Crescentstrike was just getting used to living like this. A shell of a person.
[11/27/16, 12:45:17 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: Lightningcloud took note of the heavy silence that followed and placed her tail over her back “Hey, remember what i said last time?” she mewed calmly, a hint of her motherly gentleness seeping through. Duskkit had really helped bring that side of her back, naturally she thought it had died with her kits but he seemed to prove otherwise. “About you needing someone to talk to?”
[11/27/16, 12:54:10 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Yah.” Crescenstrike’s mind was swirling with thoughts, none of which she wanted to utter. They were too hard to comprehend. They confused her.
[11/27/16, 1:04:55 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: “Well” she hesitated for a moment, remembering how she had done the same thing from her ‘clanmate’ and how that had came back to slap her right in the face. Could she really do this? Go through that shock and pain, the fear was unbearable at this point now that she had practically outed herself out. She hadn’t noticed that she was visibly trembling, only a little as her eyes clouded in thought. It took her a moment to regain herself, finally looking back up to the deputy to continue “The offer still stands. If you need help, or just someone to talk to” he paused, gulping quietly “I’ll be a willing ear"
[11/27/16, 1:51:44 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “The offer is appreciated. But what more can I say?” What had been said had been said. Crescentstrike wasn’t even sure there was anything more to speak of on the matter. And there was no way she was going to speak of her feelings towards females.
[11/27/16, 2:11:29 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: This would be it. This was her opportunity to ask about the Dark Jungle. Last minute nerves caught her throat and stopped her from speaking. It was as if someone was choking her. Eventually she took a shaky breath and questioned the deputy with a sideways glance “Is there ……anyone who’s giving you …trouble?” she had to play it safe, she couldn’t afford to be anymore detailed then that. If Crescentstrike didn’t understand that then it was most likely that she wasn’t involved with the Dark Jungle
[11/27/16, 2:14:09 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Only myself.” Crescentstrike sighed, looking down at her belly. “Though, I may be coming into some trouble very soon. Depends how it all turns out.” Maybe some trouble would be good for her.
[11/27/16, 2:21:52 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: (is crescent showing yet?)
[11/27/16, 2:22:21 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: (she could be a bit chubby by this point, sure, but possibly someone might think she just overate. Up to you if Lightning gets it
[11/27/16, 2:28:58 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: …..Lightningcloud’s whole body relaxed at that, a relived sigh escaping her as she did. She was safe, she didn’t have to worry about the Dark Jungle spreading. That was good, this was good to hear. So why was he body still trembling? Must be the after shock. She chuckled slightly at herself before turning her gaze to the slight swell in the deputy’s belly. Having been a mother herself, Lightningcloud should of noticed earlier. “Well would you look at that” she cooed softly, since becoming a mother she’d found herself more often fussing over kits and queens, being taken by the heart by the beauty of motherhood she had been shown. However, Crescentstrike’s words were of slight concern “Heh, you’re worried about being a mother eh? Well, take it from someone with experience. Thats a good thing. Show’s you’re a real mother, or at least on the path to being one”
[11/27/16, 2:32:07 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “I only became a mother because I knew it was what my clan needed. It was a matter of pr…” What was the word? Crescentstrike sometimes had a problem with finding the right word. “My clan is the smallest, if we even loose a few more members we’ll be on the brink of extinction. We needed the kits to boost our numbers.” She shouldn’t be telling a cat from another clan this. She shouldn’t. But Crescentstrike found herself not caring whether or not Lighteningcloud told her clan. If they choose to strike… Well that’d be something, wouldn't it?
[11/27/16, 2:37:50 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: Lightningcloud was a little shocked by her answer, she was more a sentimental type who appreciated kits for the joy and possibilities they held. She didn’t really agree with denouncing them to just numbers, but to each their own she supposed. “Oh” was all she could muster as an initial response. “Well, i suppose its good that you have your clans future in mind”
[11/27/16, 2:40:47 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Only because I know I should.” Crescentstrike muttered, not meeting Lightningcloud’s gaze. She was not a good cat, she knew that. She did not feel like she was one in the least. There was something wrong with her with how she was thinking. She wasn’t right.
[11/27/16, 2:46:35 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: Couldn’t really argue with her there. As warriors they had duties to the clan, to serve and to provide. Guess Crescentstrike was more warrior then most of them. Her tone over the matter wasn’t very comforting though “You shouldn’t become a mother because you think you SHOULD. There’d be no joy in it if you believe you were forced into it”
[11/27/16, 3:08:23 AM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Too late for that… Not that I was forced into it.” Crescentstrike meowed, shaking her head.
[11/27/16, 4:40:16 AM] DragonriderSC Sa: “Suppose it is” there wasn’t really much to say, the gathering was about to start so she figured it was time to draw the conversation to an end.
“Guess what I’m trying to say is, make the best out of this. Its not something to take lightly, but it can be the best thing to have ever happened to you”
[11/27/16, 11:35:05 PM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Wouldn’t be much competition.” She muttered. “Nothing’s ever really happened to me.”
[11/28/16, 7:19:05 PM] DragonriderSC Sa: That was kind of sad when she thought about it, sure life on the island wasn’t THAT eventful but even SHE had had quite the life experiences.“Take that as an opportunity then” flicking her tail across the deputy’s shoulder, she offered and encouraging smile. Lightningcloud figured it might be time to start walking back, Gatherings didn’t typically last that long. Standing to all fours, she came to Crescentstrike’s side and slowly lead the way back while continuing to converse
[11/28/16, 7:43:44 PM] Fountain Of Yewth: “Bleh.” Crescentstrike meowed, sticking out her tongue a little as she said this single syllable. She doubted it would be that simple.
It had been a while since she had mingled with the other clans, longer more since she had actually formed something with them that was beyond border squabbling. She had to wonder if she had ever made acquaintance with the other clans. A brown and white pelt with cross markings reminded her that that statement wasn’t so true anymore.
