Ravenwing entered the camp; his ears pressed against his head as he carried prey between clasped jawed. He had an unluckily experience today with hunting and was becoming more and more agitated with himself. He wanted to provide more for his adoptive clan, but lately he seemed to just get in the way of everything.
He heaved a large sigh as he plopped the plump animal in the pile before turning and moving towards a lonely palm and stretching out his legs. Curling his body on the cool sand and tucking his paws underneath him and let his blue eyes slowly began to close, barely forcing himself to stay awake.
The warrior flicked his ear as he heard paw steps not far from him and he peered at the figure. He hadn’t met everyone except a few cats, and was he curious as to who was now a part of his life.
Opening his sleepy eyes his heart lurched at the sight of the cat, eyes widening and he pushed up and nearly sprinted over to the cat, blocking their path. He stared down at the smaller cat, towering over them with wild eyes and perked ears, “Sunclover?” Ravenwing spoke in a quiet yet surprised whisper.

Warmpelt lazily sat in the clearing of his clan. Sand clung to his orange fur as he rolled down to the soft yet hot ground. His body registered the heat but the tom did not care. When you've lived in this clan for so long, heat just doesn't seem to matter. He was one of the luckier cats. Instead of having long fur, he was blessed with medium length. It was not short but it was not long. Though he was still envious of the longer furred cats. They were like big clouds, fluffy and soft.
Ok, that was enough time to let his mind wander. Warmpelt stood up and stretched out his front and back legs. The stiffness was soon gone and energy took it's place. He should go out and hunt or something. The tom had not done anything all day. Out of the corner of his eye he could just make out a fairly large cat. One that, like most, would tower over him. He didn't register the cat, well he did notice the long fur.
Warmpelt made his way past the older cat on his way out. His feet sunk slightly onto the ground, toes were stiff with their daily helping of sand. Only moments passed and before he knew it, that very cat was in front of him again. He was stunned and startled, taking a step back to show that.
His ears were pinned to his head in apology. "Um, n-no" He started softly before muttering, "Warmpelt" At first he avoided the tom's gaze but soon moved to meet it Jade eyes met deep blue. In his mind he was already starting to wonder who was the cat that he had been mistaken for. "Sorry" He added while taking note of the long fur again.

Ravenwing's hopeful smile fell immediately, the spark in his eyes vanishing as his ears pressed to his head. He felt his heart almost break again like the day he lost her entirely.
"Oh." The warrior's voice became strained and awkward as he took a step away, no longer meeting blue to green, "I apologize. I, uh, thought you were someone else."
He pressed his paws into the sand, letting the warm sand push between his toes and spread them apart, "I've never seen you around, Warmpelt, but no surprise since I haven't been here for long." He paused, finally looking back up, "I'm Ravenwing."

He pursed his lips together and curled his toes. The tom was still a bit uncomferable and feeling as if he had done something wrong just because of how he looked. Of course he couldn't control that and the whole thing was just a simple mistake. He had to tell himself that a few times before the words finally sunk in. "It's nice to meet you Ravenwing." He gave a half smile to the bigger cat.
"How are you liking the clan life so far?" Was the first thing he asked him. Being the kind of cat he was, Warmpelt wanted to learn more about the tom, and become friends if it was possible. Of course friendship doesn't happen overnight. You have to build it. "I was about to go out walking, hunting if I could find anything. Would you like to join?" He had only gotten a glimpse of the black cat earlier, so he had no idea if he had already done anything today.

Ravewing dropped his gaze, no long looking at the tom. He couldn't bring himself to look at his pelt. His orange and white colors was almost identical to that of Sunclover and it felt like he was being physically hurt by looking at them.
He took another step, increasing the distance between the two with his ears just slightly back, "I am not enjoying it as much as am I told I should be." He admitted, "I miss my fami- life. I miss my life." Ravenwing corrected himself, not allowing this stranger to know of his family. His family was his own, they were gone. That was it.
"Hunting?" He forced himself to look at the cat, ears pricking slightly. Did he really want to hang around a cat that reminded him so much of his mate? No. He didn't. But this was his life now, "I just came back from a hunt. But, it was a poor one. I'll be willing to go on another with you."

Warmpelt flicked his eyes up suddenly. Did he just imagine it? No, he was sure that the older cat changed what he was originally going to say. The curiosity started to nibble at the edge of his mind and he had to keep his mouth closed tightly just to stop from it. He was trying to make a friend and this cat wasn't going to ruin it by digging into another's personal life. The temptation may be too much eventually and he could only pray that he didn't anger the bigger cat.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that" Warmpelt flashed him a half smile, slightly filled with concern. "It can be hard dealing with big changes, but I'm sure you'll get used to it. It may take a bit of time, but the cats here are nice" The orange and white cat glanced around the camp, muttering a "mostly" under his breath. Someone of the cats were actually quite rude and had no respect for others. Sometimes you just wanted to claw their fur off. Though all you could do was endure it until the two of you part ways.
His smile could only grow wider when Ravenwing gave his answer. "Really? I'm glad. I love hunting, though hunting with others is better." He padded a bit closer to the cat for a moment to walk past him, then stop and turn around to wait for him to come. Warmpelt's mood seems to have increased greatly.
